Cytopathology and Histopathology

Cytopathology is a subdivision of pathology that examine diseases on cellular level. It is a technique which is specially designed to examine individual cells which is extracted from tissues to determine disease. Used for the examination of cancer, infectious diseases and other inflammatory conditions. Cytopathology examine free cells or tissue micro-fragments. Sometimes it is also known as smear tests.
Histopathology studies about the diseased tissue specimens of bowel or breast lumps removed because of suspected cancer, including examination under the microscope. Histopathologists detects the effects of diseases on body tissue and identifies tumors. Histopathologists are at the forefront of research into many common diseases such as cancer.
