Eating Disorders and Mental Illness

Eating disorders are psychiatric illnesses in which the people experience severe disturbances in their eating behaviours and related thoughts and emotions. People with eating disorders typically become pre-occupied with food and their body weight. Eating disorders includes anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder and OSFED (other specified feeding or eating disorder).

Mental Illness is a psychiatric disorder that causes mild to severe disturbances in thought and behaviour, resulting in an inability to adapt with life’s conventional requests and schedules.
