Head and Neck Pathology

Head and Neck Pathology cover the spectrum of human surgical pathology within the anatomic zones of the oral cavity, sinonasal tract, larynx, hypopharynx, salivary gland, ear and temporal bone, and neck.  It is done for patients who have cancerous tumors and noncancerous disease, infections, inflammations, and other conditions affecting the head and neck region. Pathologists examine tissue samples under a microscope and conduct relevant special stains, tumor markers immunohistochemical and molecular tests to reach a diagnosis.
