Imaging biomarkers are the class of biomarkers which allow earlier detection of disease compared to molecular biomarkers, which is streamline translational research in the drug discovery and researchers under cancer images in marketplace.Some of the image-based biomarkers are X-RayComputed Tomography (CT),  Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photo Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Imaging Biomarkers is used to identify the percent of receptors in a drug targets, shortening the time and money of research during the new drug development stage. It is also a non-invasive biomarkers, which has a clinical advantage over molecular biomarkers.
