Nanosensors are one of the applications for the determination of contamination in Food Products. Nanotechnology enables Nano-carrier systems for delivery of nutrients and supplements. Food is nanofood when nanoparticles, nanotechnology techniques or tools are used during cultivation, production, processing, or packaging of the food. It does not mean atomically modified food or food produced by nanomachines. Nanotechnology is an emerging science and, if used to develop novel foods and processes, approval would be required under the 'Novel Foods Regulation' to ensure products are safe. Nanotechnology is the manufacture and use of materials and structures at the nanometre scale.
