Irrigation and Water Management

Agricultural irrigation water managing is the practice of checking and handling the amount, volume, and control of water application according to the seasonal crop requirements, giving consideration to the soil intake and water holding capacities. Soil moisture should be managed to attain optimum produces, without deep percolation (soil physics) losses or runoff. Management is a prime aspect in the success of an irrigation system. Large quantities of water, and frequently large labour inputs, are mandatory for irrigation. The irrigator can realize returns from investments in irrigation tools only if water is used efficiently.
