Pediatric Dentistry and Dental Nursing

Pediatric Dentistry is defined as the practice, teaching and research in comprehensive preventative and therapeutic oral health care of children from birth through adolescence. It is based on basic knowledge from odonatological, medical and behavioral sciences that are applied to the unique situation of the developing child and young person. Pediatric Dentistry is constantly expanding and now includes such areas as early identification of children suspected to suffer from syndromes and of children suspected to suffer from child maltreatment.
