Graphene can be created by cutting open carbon nanotubes. In one such method multi-walled carbon nanotubes are cut open in solution by action of potassium permanganate and sulphuric acid in another method graphene Nano ribbons were produced by plasma etching of nanotubes partly embedded in a polymer film. Chemical vapour deposition includes Epitaxy, Silicon Carbide, and Cold wall. Graphene Nano ribbons are strips of graphene with ultra-thin width less than 50nm.Graphene ribbons were introduced to examine the edge and Nano scale size effect in graphene. Three dimensional honeycomb of hexagonally arranged carbon was termed 3D graphene, although self-supporting 3D graphene has not yet been produced.3D graphene have applications in several fields such as energy storage, filtration, Thermal management. Graphene Analogs are referred as artificial graphene and that are two dimensional systems which exhibits similar properties of graphene.
