There is the possibility of nosocomial transmission of many viruses, including hepatitis B and C viruses (transfusions, injections, dialysis, and endoscopy), enteroviruses, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and rotaviruses (Transmitted by contact with the hand to the mouth and through the faecal-oral route). Other viruses such as cytomegalovirus, HIV, Ebola virus, influenza virus, herpes simplex virus and varicella-zoster virus, may also be transmitted.
