Women Health and Nutrition

A balanced diet is a basis of health. Women, like men, should consume a variety of healthy foods from all of the foods groups, which  include whole grains, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, low-fat or fat-free dairy and lean protein. But women also have special nutrient needs, and, throughout each period of a woman's life, these needs change. Nutrient-rich foods deliver energy for women's busy lives and help to ease the risk of disease. Physical activity is a key part of a woman's health that promotes weight control, muscle strength and stress management in women.
