Adebola O. Adesanya is  Director of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management at University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. He received his MBBS from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in 1988 and completed a residency in Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine from Mayo Clinic. He received his MPH from the University of Texas School of Public Health, Houston, Texas in 2007. He was recognized as "Teacher of the year" by the residents and fellows of the department of Anesthesiology at UTSW in 2006. He has authored several publications and is a reviewer for 6 journal in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine.

Research Interest

Preoperative evaluation and care of seriously ill patients undergoing surgery, Anesthesia for vascular surgery, Anesthesia for thoracic surgery,  Anesthesia for ambulatory surgery, Pulmonary complications after surgery, Postoperative care of critically ill surgical patients, Acute lung injury and acute respiratory distress syndrome in the perioperative period, Ventilator induced lung injury, Critical Care outcomes.
