Biography

Akhilesh Sista MD is currently an interventional radiology fellow at Stanford University Medical center He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of California San Francisco UCSF In between residency and fellowship Dr Sista was a fellow in the Stanford biodesign program a yearlong fellowship that teaches the process of innovation in medical technology He is one of the primary investigators on two seed grants funded during this fellowship
During residency Dr Sista was awarded a T32 training grant to perform research He worked in the molecular imaging division of the department of radiology at UCSF eventually publishing his results in the Journal of Translational Medicine Over the course of his residency he published several articles in the Journal of Ultrasound in Medicine
Dr Sista is also a Sarnoff fellow having conducted research in the cardiovascular department at the Stanford University School of Medicine in between his 3rd and 4th year of medical school publishing his results in the Journal of Applied Physiology
Dr Sista received his BS from Stanford University and his MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
