His career started with an M.Sc. in Medicinal Chemistry followed by a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, after graduating from the School of Pharmacy of the University of Patras, Greece. In 2004 he has joined the lab of Walter Koch, a former postdoctoral fellow of Nobel laureate Robert Lefkowitz`s. During his tenure there, he had several successes, awards and honors, most prominent among which being a lead-author publication in “Nature Medicine” and a 4-year Scientist Development Grant from the American Heart Association (AHA) he currently hold. Additionally, He have been an AHA postdoctoral research fellow for three years, a finalist for the Melvin L. Marcus Young Investigator Award in Basic Cardiovascular Sciences, and for the Cardiovascular Research Award of the European Society of Cardiology.
He holds two research patents, serve on the Editorial Boards of four peer-reviewed journals, as peer-reviewer for several prestigious journals, and  He is also an AHA Fellow (FAHA).

Molecular pharmacology, physiology and biology of G protein-coupled (heptahelical or seven transmembrane-spanning) receptors (GPCRs); Heart Failure; Cardiovascular Disease; Neurohormonal control of the Circulation;
Adrenal Physiology and Pharmacology; Receptors for Adrenaline and Noradrenaline; Catecholamines; Receptors for Angiotensin II; Signal Transduction; Gene Therapy; Transgenic mice and rats; Aldosterone production regulation; Regulation of Adrenergic and Angiotensin Receptors; G protein-coupled receptor Kinases (GRKs); Beta-Arrestins; Novel “Biased” G protein-coupled Receptor Ligands; Pharmacogenomics and pharmacoproteomics of cardiovascular GPCRs, GRKs and beta-arrestins.
