Biography

Andrzej Kowalski graduated from the Educational University of Kielce (Poland) in 1986. Andrzej Kowalski has completed his Post-graduated studies at the University of Lodz (Poland), getting Ph.D. degree in 1997. My Ph.D thesis have been presented in the paper "Allelic polymorphism of histone H1.a in duck erythrocytes”, Biochemical Genetics in 1998.

Research Interest

Andrzej Kowalski research interests focus on the heterogeneity of birds and mammals linker (H1) histones. So far there are no unequivocal evidence on how such a most abundant chromatin components influenced on specific gene repression and/or activation, especially by its polymorphic and/or modified forms. To fill this gap, Andrzej Kowalski's current studies dealing the elucidation the histone H1-dependent genetic and epigenetic processes are concerned with population characteristic of polymorphic and modified histone H1 variants in certain special circumstances such as breeding and selection.
