Biography

Dr. Rost completed her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology with a Health Specialty at the University of Kansas. She interned at the University of Chicago Medical Center working in a Psycho-Oncology setting, and a multidisciplinary Anxiety Disorders clinic. Dr. Rost then coordinated psychological services in the Gynecological Oncology section of the Siteman Cancer Center at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.  In this role, she worked primarily with individuals dealing with anxiety and depression during their cancer diagnosis and treatment process. Since 2003, Dr. Rost has been an assistant/associate professor at Missouri State University. Her research consists primarily of the effects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in alleviating distress, and specifically, the role of values in the therapeutic process. She is actively involved in ABCT, ABA, and ABCS.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interaction of health and distress, Values, Mood and chronic pain, Psycho-Oncology, Depression and Anxiety in cancer patient populations.
