Biography

Antoine Malek was born in El-Gharbia, Egypt, in 1947. He received the Biochemistry Diploma and the Ph.D. degree from the Biochemistry Institute of University Zurich, Switzerland, in 1977 and 1982, respectively. His postdoctoral studies, which were provided by a fellowship of the Food and Drug Administration for two years in USA, conducted in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY, USA and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Arkansas, and National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR), Little Rock/ Jefferson, Ark, USA. From 1990 to 2007, A. Malek was the Head of Placental Research Group of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University Hospital of Berne-Inselspital, Berne, Switzerland. Presently, he is the Head of Placental Research Group of the Obstetrics Department, University Hospital Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland.
