Biography

Aruna Turaka after completing her fellowship, she joined Fox Chase′s department of radiation oncology in 2009. During her training, she took special interest in lung cancers. In her practice, she specialize in treating patients with lung cancer (with new treatment techniques like IMRT and SBRT), CNS malignances and leukemia/Lymphomas (CNS Lymphoma, Plasmacytomas).

 

Research Interest

Aruna Turaka research intrests includes Lung cancer involving the stereotactic body radiation therapy both for the primary and metastatic disease along with the role of different radiation therapy techniques for the resectable and unresectable NSCLC. She is also a part of clinical trials involving the use of targeted agents in the treatment of LANSCLC with concurrent chemoradiation therapy at Fox Chase Cancer Center. She also developed a database of the treatment of Head and neck malignancies with IMRT at FCCC during her fellowship, presented data at several national meetings and published in peer/non-peer reviewed journals. She also developed a database on ocular lymphoma and extra-nodal lymphoma and published/presented her work at different meetings. As a junior faculty at FCCC, she developed a database on the treatment outcomes for the Merkel Cell Carcinoma and presented abstracts in collaboration with the multispecialty teams at FCCC. Presently, she is developing a database on the SBRT outcomes for both the primary and metastatic lung cancer.  She adjusted merit awards at national meetings for the H&N, Lymphoma presentations.
