Barbara Scaglia has a 5year University Degree in Biological Science achieved at the State University of Milano. She obtained the PhD in Agricultural Ecology with a research thesis titled Biological and chemical indicators to evaluate dynamic soil quality employed at the University of Milano from 2005 to 2010 with a postdoctoral position In 2002. She participated at the WnmrC project HP Programme Access to Research Infrastructures funded by the European Commission. She developed new analytical method Dynamic respirometric index DRI adopted at both national Italian Normative CommitteeUNI method UNI/TS 11184 and European European Normation CommitteeCEN prEN 15590 level. Since 2008, she is in charge as National expert within the CEN CEN/TC 343/WG. 3 In 2009, she participated as researcher to the EvK2CNR/NAST mission to the Everest scientific base Nepal Author of 45 scientific publications ,15 on ISI journals, 7 as first author of three chapters of international books and of two analytical methods.

Chemical (pyrolisis, GC MAS, infrared spectroscopy), physical (tensiometer) and biological (respirometry and biogas anaerobic production test)
characterization of organic matter from different origins
