After graduating in 2011 he joined the Division of Nephrology, Dialysis and Transplantation (Prof. H. Geiger) at Goethe University Hospital, Frankfurt, Germany. Working as MD and researcher he took a strong interest in novel blood filtration devices and established a successful cooperation with DARPA's Dialysis-Like Therapeutics (DLT) project. Current research using next-generation sequencing (NGS) is centered on pathogen associated acute and chronic kidney failure, as well as donor specific antibodies in kidney transplantation.

Acute and chronic kidney failure caused by viral infections, sepsis, kidney transplant rejection, donor specific antibodies, novel blood filtration devices, next generation sequencing, non-coding RNAs, exosomes.
