Dr. Zybailov has received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Penn State University during the period of 1998-2002. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor in Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Arkansas for Medical Science. His research has included Metaproteomics and metagenomics of human gut microbiome. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as UAMS Cancer Center Pilot grant and Frederick C.Wedler Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award. He is an expert Reviewers for journals like Journal of Proteome Research, Molecular and Cellular Proteomics, Frontiers in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology, International Journal of Proteomics, Analytical Chemistry. He have authored 34 research articles/books. He is a member of Member of American Society for Mass Spectrometry.

Research Interest

Metaproteomics and metagenomics of human gut microbiome. Function of human gut microbiota in the progression of chronic kidney disease. Mass spectrometry-based proteomics, application to human gut microbiome. Mass spectrometry of protein-to-protein and protein-to-DNA cross-links. Computational proteomics, developing information-processing pipelines and strategies for handling metaproteomics data.
