Biography

Crystal Randolph holds a doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Louisiana State University. Dr. Randolph has a B.A. degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology (Summa Cum Laude) from South Carolina State University and a M.C.D. degree from the University of South Carolina. She currently serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Research in Education and for the Journal of Literature, Literacy, and the Arts. She has experience in editing a variety of manuscripts including dissertations, theses, and research and review articles. Dr. Randolph is currently an assistant professor at Valdosta State University, where she teaches several classes including Introduction to Communication Disorders, Introduction to Articulation Disorders, and Advanced Phonology and Articulation. Prior to becoming an assistant professor, Dr. Randolph worked in the public school system as a speech-language pathologist for 8 years. Her research interests include early literacy and language development and interventions and pedagogical strategies in higher education. Dr. Randolph’s latest research has involved exploring the role of phonological awareness skills in reading and exploring effective phonological awareness interventions for preschoolers.
