Department of Microbiology and Immunology
University of Texas

David Kadosh obtained his B.A. in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 1991 and completed his Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Pharmacology at Harvard University in 1998. His thesis work provided one of the first demonstrations that targeted histone deacetylation could result in eukaryotic transcriptional repression. Dr. Kadosh then went on to complete a Damon Runyan postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. In 2006 he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Dr. Kadosh has published numerous manuscripts in high-impact journals including Cell, Nature and PNAS and in 2009 he was the recipient of a Voelcker Young Investigator Award. His research focuses primarily on molecular mechanisms that determine morphology and virulence in the major human fungal pathogen Candida albicans.

Research Interest

Dr. David kadosh research interests are Control of morphology and virulence in the major fungal pathogen Candida albicans, identification and characterization of novel C. albicans virulence factors, transcriptional regulation and C. albicans genomics.
