Biography

Dennis M. Donovan is Director of the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Institute, University of Washington, Professor, Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, University of Washington School of Medicine, Adjunct Professor, Department of Psychology, University of Washington.
He has received a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington, 1980.
He is a Fellow in Divisions 50 (Addictions) and 28 (Psychopharmacology and Substance Abuse) of the American Psychological Association
Past President of the Society of Psychologists in Addictive Behaviors (precursor to APA Division 50)
He has served as an editorial board member of a number of addiction-related journals.
He has published over 150 articles, 33 book chapters, and 5 edited books.
He has had grants from the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, and the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities.
