Biography

Erik Kropat studied mathematics with minors in physics and theoretical computer science at the Technical University Darmstadt, Germany. In 2006 he obtained his doctoral degree in the area of the analysis and optimization of differential equations on complex networks. From 2005 to 2009 he served as the coordinator of the international doctorate program, “Identification, Optimization and Control with Applications in Modern Technologies”of the universities Erlangen-Nuremberg, Würzburg and Bayreuth within the Elite Network of Bavaria, Germany. Since 2009, he is a member of the Institute for Theoretical Computer Science, Mathematics and Operations Research at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, Germany. His current research interests include data mining, spatial data analysis and high-resolution geoinformationsystems, sensor management and evolving networks under uncertainty. A particular focus of his research concerns intelligent decision support systems for dynamical crisis and disaster operations.
