Dr. Feng Bo is an Assistant Professor and a member of the Stem Cell and Regeneration Thematic Research Program in the School of Biomedical Sciences, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Feng received her Ph.D. in Developmental Neurobiology from Temasek Life Sciences Laboratory, National University of Singapore, and conducted her postdoctoral research in the Genome Institute of Singapore. She discovered that the orphan nuclear receptor Esrrb and Nr5a2 can enhance the reprogramming of mouse fibroblasts into induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), whereas PRDM14 could promote human iPSC generation. These findings have been published in Nature Cell Biology, Cell Stem Cell and Nature, respectively. Dr. Feng assumed the current post in 2010 and her current research interest lies within the molecular mechanisms that control the pluripotency maintenance and differentiation of embryonic stem cells or iPSCs. She has obtained several research grants from Hong Kong Research Grant Council (RGC) and National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).

1. Conversion of human and mouse somatic cells into induced pluripotent stem cells

2. Understanding molecular mechanism that maintain pluripotent stem cells at various pluripotency states

3. Uncovering gene regulations that control the differentiation of ESCs and iPSCs

4. Genome editing and stem cell therapy
