Biography

Gennadiy Chernov is an Associate Professor in the School of Journalism at the University of Regina (M.A. ’01, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; PhD ‘08, Univ. of Oregon,). He had been a correspondent/narrator/commentator for the Russian State Broadcasting Company for seven years (1993-1999). He got his international broadcasting experience as a BBC World Service trainee and he worked at the International Desk, CNN Atlanta in 2000. Gennadiy is currently teaching broadcast journalism and international media.

Communication studies, Psychological mechanisms of media effects, Commercialization of television news with specialization in experimental studies of agenda-setting theory.
