Gobind Das pursued his Master of Sceince (Physics) and Master of Technology (Laser Science and Applications) from BHU, Varanasi, India (1997-1999) and DAVV, Indore, India (1999-2001), respectively. Later on, he joined Università degli studi di Trento, Trento for his Ph. D. (Physics). In year Dec. 2004, he defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled "Study of micro-structure and optical properties of silicon oxide-based materials by vibrational spectroscopy methods”. Gobind Das had wide experience from different spectroscopic characterization, polymer science to nanofabrication. He carried out his post-doc tenure at Faculty of engineering, University of Trento, Trento and at Faculty of Medicine, University of Magna Graecia “Catanzaro”, Catanzaro. He was also part of research and development team in spin-off company; CalMed, Catanzaro, Italy. He joined Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genoa, Italy as a Team Leader in 2009 before joining KAUST, Saudi Arabia as a Research Scientist in 2014. He is having various publications in reputed journals including Nature publishing group and Science magazine, having h factor of 28, i10 of 59 and total citations of over 2825.

Surface enhanced vibrational (Raman and Infrared) spectroscopy, Spectroscopy characterization of biomaterials, Nanofabrication devices for biomedical applications.
