Biography

Prof. Nakao has received his PhD from Waseda University University in 1987 Currently, he is working as Professor in Osaka University, Japan. He has served as Research associate in Department of Applied Physics, School of Science and Engineering, Waseda University (April 1984 - March 1987), as an Associate professor in Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Engineering, Gunma University October 1988 - March 1995, as an Associate professor, Department of Applied MathematicsFaculty of Science, Science University of Tokyo (April 1995 - March 1999). Professor (April 1999 - March 2001), Department of Applied Mathematics Faculty of Science, Science University of Tokyo.

Research Interest

1. Asymptotic behavior in time of solutions to nonlinear dispersive equations (Nonlinear Schrodinger, nonlinear Klein-Gordon, Benjamin-Ono, Korteweg-de Vries, modified Korteweg-de Vries, derivative nonlinear Schrodinger equations) 2. Nonlinear dissipative equations (Complex Landau-Ginzburg equations, Korteweg-de Vries equation on a half line, Damped wave equations with a critical nonlinearity).
