Biography

Dr. Jagesh V. Shah  has received his PhD in Medical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge during the period  of  1994-1999, Biophysics during 1999 from Harvard Medical School, Boston, and Molecular Cell Biology during 1999-2005 from University of California at San Diego, La Jollla. Currently,  he is working as Associate Professor of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School and  Medicine/Renal Division, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard-MIT Division Health Sciences and Technology. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Assistant Professor in Department of Systems Biology, Harvard Medical School .He is serving as an editorial member of journal WILEY Wires Systems Biology. He is reviewer of series of professional journals: Journal of Cell Biology, Molecular Biology of the Cell, Traffic, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Cell and Tissue Research, Biophysical Journal, PLOS One, PLOS Biology, Current Biology, Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences, Tissue Engineering. He has more than 40 peer reviewed publications. He received many fellowships and grants.

Research Interest

Research is to understand, from a systems level, how signaling architecture and protein interactions provide the basis for noise rejection and signal amplification – central elements to a measurement apparatus. Focus on three key cell biological processes: 1) the Spindle assembly checkpoint, 2) Cilium length regulation and 3) Gradient sensing in leukocytes.
