Biography

Dr. Tew received his Ph.D. in industrial engineering from Purdue University, his M.S. in statistics from Purdue University, and his B.S. in mathematics from Purdue University. Dr. Tew is coming to us from General Motor Research and Development Center where he served as co-Director for the GM/Stanford University Collaborative Laboratory on Work Systems. Previously he was the Director of Logistics Engineering at Schneider Logistics, Inc. in Green Bay, WI. Earlier, he was a Senior Systems Engineer at Consolidated Freightways, Inc. in Portland, OR. and an Adjunct Associate Professor of Computer Simulation at the Oregon Graduate Institute. Dr. Tew is currently an Adjunct Professor of Supply Chain Management at Georgia Tech University and a Visiting Professor of Industrial Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Dr. Tew has published numerous articles in many operational and supply chain management journals. Besides being in the forefront of research in the theory of supply chain management, he also has extensive practical experience in implementing supply chain structure for different industries. He has lectured extensively on supply chain management, Six Sigma implementations, and quality control at numerous universities including Stanford University and MIT.

Application of operations Information technology tools to large-scale logistics (supply chain)systems E-commerce.
