Biography

Dr Teng received his economics PhD from the University of Toronto specializing in public economics, his political science PhD from Duke University specializing in international political economy and his statistics MSc from Duke University and his LLM degree from the University of London specializing in international economic laws. He has authored three books on games theory and political economy and about a dozen journal articles. He has held research and teaching positions in Nanyang Technological University, Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. Currently he is with the School of Economics at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus.

Research Interest

Dr Teng researches microeconomics and political economy. He is investigating Bayesian statistical decision theoretic foundation of games theory and the effects of rent seeking contest on microeconomic behaviours such as risk preference and consumption and production decisions. He also studies the causes of very long term economic progress and decline.
