Biography

Dr. Seubert obtained his BSc in biology and MSc in aquatic toxicology with from Simon Fraser University. He received his Doctorate in Pharmacology andToxicology from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Western Ontario. He went on to complete a fellowship in Cardiovascular Pharmacology at the National Institute of Environmental Health Science in Research Triangle Park, NC, under the supervision of Dr. Darryl Zeldin. Dr. Seubert established his own independent research laboratory in the area of cytochrome P450-dervied metabolites of arachidonic acid health and disease,in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Alberta, where he has an adjunct appointment in the Department of Pharmacology. He received a New investigator Award from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada in 2007 and is an Alberta Innovates Health Scholar. He is as an active member of the Cardiovascular Research Centre and the Mazankowski Heart Institute and the Toxicology Research Group at the University of Alberta.

Research Interest

Research in our lab is focused on investigating the cellular role of cytochrome P450-dervied metabolites of arachidonic acid (epoxyeicosatrienoic acids – EETs) in maintaining cellular and tissue homeostasis and reducing injury.
