Joe Fuhr is a Professor of Economics at Widener University. Dr. Fuhr received his MA and PhD from Temple University and his BA from LaSalle University. Dr. Fuhr primary research areas are antitrust health economics pharmacoeconomics, telecommunications and sports economics. He has published over fifty journal articles In the field of telecommunications, he has written on investment and innovation rural telephony terminal equipment universal service the environment and taxes In health care, he has written on hospital mergers exclusive arrangements health insurance bundling and doctors fees In pharmacoeconomics, he has written on cost benefit analysis and predictive modeling In sports economics. Dr. Fuhr has written on the economics of baseball and football Professor. Fuhr has been an expert witness on antitrust matters related to health economics and has worked on various consulting projects. Some of his recent works concerning Information Technology are Broadband Services: Economic and Environmental Benefits, Innovation and National Broadband Policies: Facts Fiction and Unanswered Questions and The Internet Ecosystem: Employment Impacts of National Broadband Policy. He is an economic consultant for the School of Population Health at Thomas Jefferson University Senior Fellow for The American Consumer Institute and Ambassador for the Internet Innovation Alliance. He is also affiliated with Compass Rose International Darby Associates and Econsult.
