Joyce Cordell Richardson

Biography

Dr. Joyce Richardson comes to Andrews University with a Masters and Ph. D. from the Ohio State University. She has had a wealth and breadth of academic and clinical experiences that span almost 40 years. She carries CCC’s in speech language pathology and was CCC’d in audiology for over 20 years. She is currently contemplating reinstating her CCC in audiology. Dr. Richardson has been employed at five university settings, carrying both teaching and administrative responsibilities. She has taught on the graduate level for over 12 years and earned full academic professorship in 1984. Her signature academic accomplishments were in securing several federal grants to increase the numbers of minority and other underrepresented populations in the field of speech language pathology. Ninety five percent of these students passed the National Teachers Examination (Praxis) in speech language pathology

Research Interest

Speech language pathology, dysphagia, adult and child language disorders, fluency and accent reduction.
