Biography

Junming Yue obtained his PhD degree at the Changchun University of Agriculture and Animal Sciences in 1996 from P.R. China. He had his postdoctoral training in the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, Free University of Berlin, Germany and the Department of Physiology, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC), Memphis, USA. He continued his academic research as a research assistant professor in the University of Pittsburgh and UTHSC. Currently he is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, School of Medicine, the UTHSC. His research focuses on the miRNAs and human cancer, particularly in ovarian cancer.

Research Interest

Dr. Yue investigates how miRNAs regulate tumor cell proliferation, migration, apoptosis and metastasis. His lab uses lentiviral, adenoviral and adeno-associated viral vectors to deliver miRNA genes in cultured cells in vitro and mouse models in vivo to study the miRNA-mediated gene regulatory network by identifying their target genes and downstream signaling pathways, thus to develop miRNA based drugs in the treatment of ovarian cancer.
