Manchester Metropolitan University

Katherine Taylor completing Lancaster University’s Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2010, I spent three years at The Spectrum Centre for Mental Research at Lancaster University; the UK’s only centre dedicated to psychological research into bipolar disorder. During this time I worked closely with service users within the NHS and the voluntary sector and presented in a range of settings. My most recent research into bipolar disorder focused on creativity and other positives often experienced by those with a diagnosis. I am now employed in a varied role as a clinical researcher within Manchester Metropolitan’s Arts for Health department, where I manage an NHS site of the Dementia and Imagination research programme, a multi-disciplinary investigation into the role of the arts in dementia services, and more widely in creating dementia friendly communities.
