Biography

Kesheng Wang has received PhD in Population Genetics and Biostatistics from the University of Goettingen, Goettingen. Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor, Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, College of Public Health, East Tennessee State University, TUSA.

Research Interest

Genetic epidemiology/Statistical genetics, Genome-wide linkage and association studies of complex diseases, Fine mapping and re-sequencing of loci relevant to susceptibility and outcomes, investigation into the causal gene variants; Development and application of statistical methods in analysis of clinic, gene expression and genotypic data, linkage analysis and association studies for binary and quantitative traits as well as survival data; Detection of gene-gene and gene-environment interactions of complex diseases; Identification of disease subtypes and subgroups; Statistical methods in QTL/gene mapping in animal models of complex diseases; Statistical Population genetics; Statistical methods in application of genetic markers (microsatellite, SNPs, DNA sequences and copy number variations) for estimation of genetic variation, detection of natural selection and recombination hot spot, inference of haplotype and population stratification as well as population history; Population genetic analysis of natural populations, structural variation and gene expression profiling; development and application of methods based on the coalescent theory; Biostatistics; Application of multivariate methods for analyzing multivariate phenotypic data; Statistical methods using linear and non-linear mixed models; Survival analysis in human samples and animal models.
