Biography

Marios Prikis, MD received his MD from Semmelweis University in Hungary and then trained in internal medicine and nephrology in his home country of Cyprus. He completed US residency in Internal Medicine at Michael Reese Hospital/University of Illinois at Chicago before going to the University of Vermont/Fletcher Allen Health Care as a Nephrology Fellow. Following his training in Nephrology here, he went to the Oregon Health & Science University as a fellow and Clinical Instructor of Medicine in Kidney Transplantation. He returned to Cyprus as the only certified Transplant Nephrologist. He worked as a Consultant Transplant Nephrologist at the Paraskevaidion Transplant Center and then after agreement with the Ministry of Health, he joined the New Organ Transplantation Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital. He is active member of the American Society of Transplantation, the Americam Society of Nephrology and the European Society of Organ Transplantation. His research interest includes acute rejection markers and Pancreas Transplantation.
