Professor, Department of Communication Disorders & Counseling
Indiana State University, USA

Biography

Dr. Mark Stimley has taught, supervised, and worked primarily with persons with aphasia and cognitive deficits at Indiana State University for the past 21 years.  Although he has long standing interests in 1) the use of hybrid-eclectic therapy approaches in the treatment of neurogenic communication disorders that lead to changes in communication activities and life participation and 2) pedagogy, active learning, and the assessment of student academic and clinical performance, he considers himself to be a generalist.

Dr. Stimley has taught classes and supervised students covering almost all areas of speech-language pathology (with the exception of child language).  He is an avid consumer of available published and presented research and considers himself to be much more of a teaching professor rather than a researcher.
