Dr. Micha Abeles is a professor of medicine in the Department of Medicine, Division of Rheumatology at the University of Connecticut Health Center and Interim Chief of the Division of Rheumatology. Dr. Abeles received his BA from Cornell University and his MD from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Abeles did his residency at State University of New York and his Fellowship at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine He is a board certified rheumatologist. He has done extensive research in the treatment of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Dr. Abeles is a co-author of the 1990 Fibromyalgia Criteria Paper and is known for his work on osteonecrosis in systemic lupus erythematosus.
