Biography
Dr. Michael Lam teaches in the Bachelor of Sport Coaching and Bachelor of Sport Business Management. His research focuses on fitness training and health. He has published more than 20 peer reviewed international and regional journal and secured more than 10 funding as a principal investigator or a co-investigator (around 4 million Hong Kong Dollars) from different medical fund, health and health services fund, health care and health promotion fund, general research fund of universities, University seed grant, recreational and sport fund, knowledge exchange fund, and different funding from different organizations. He is appointed to be the reviewer and the editorial board member of Health Psychology Research, SAGE open education and Hong Kong Recreation Management Review. Dr. Lam obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Recreation Management with first class honours. He then received a Master’s Degree in Sports and Leisure Management with Distinction, and a postgraduate diploma in Physical Education. He also earned a Master of Philosophy in the area of elderly health promotion and leisure exercise management at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU). After that He won both a fellowship and a studentship to pursue my PhD at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. Dr. Lam is now the programme leader of BSc (Hons) Sport Business Management and BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching, Faculty of Health and Wellbeing, Sheffield Hallam University, UK and he is appointed by Hong Kong Government as the trustee of Sir David Trench Fund Committee of Sport and Recreation & appointed by The Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) as the specialist of the industry of sport, leisure, physical education, hospitality, education and teacher's training.
