Dr. Putluri is an Assistant Professor and Director of Metabolomics for the Alkek Center for Molecular Discovery at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Putluri is mainitaining the Cancer Metabolomics core at alkek center for molecular discovery. Besides the core, Dr Putluri research focus is in the area of metabolomic profiling of tumors to obtain biochemical insights into cancer progression as well as develop non-invasive metabolic markers for detection and prognosis of tumors. He has successfully developed a state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based metabolomics profiling platform and used it to study metabolome of prostate cancer, bladder cancer and breast cancer. These studies was published in Cell, Journal of Clinical investigations, Cell reports, Cancer Research, PlosGenetic, which has the highest impact in the Cancer Research community. He contributed more than 35 internal journals.
