Biography

Dr. Pamela D. Berens is a Professor of OB/GYN at the University of Texas, Houston. Clinically, She is a generalist OB/GYN with surgical interests in laparoscopic and robotic procedures. I participate in education in OB/GYN and breast health and chair the OB/GYN quality improvement committee. She lecture for the Texas Department of State Health Services regarding lactation focusing on aspects related to; breast complications, maternal medical complications, medications, hospital practices and clinical policies and their impact on lactation. She is a past board member and actively participate in the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. She has written review articles regarding the puerperium, medication use during pregnancy and lactation, evaluation of breast masses and supportive physician practices encouraging lactation. Most recently, She has co-authored the text, Clinical Therapy in Breastfeeding Mothers with Dr. Tom Hale. She has been involved with clinical research projects including breastfeeding topics (galactogues, mastitis, milk composition), robotics education and influenza.
