Biography

Dr. Panjamurthy Kuppusamy has received his MSc in Biochemistry from Bharathidasan University and PhD in Biochemistry from Annamalai University, India. Currently, he is a Researcher at the Department of Medicine, University of Maryland School of Medicine, and Baltimore. Before joining University of Maryland School of Medicine he was a UNESCO-RCB Young Investigator at UNESCO-Regional Center for Biotechnology, India. He has authored more than 40 articles in international peer reviewed journals and two book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for several international journals. His current area of research focuses on drug discovery, biomarker detection, DNA drug delivery and breast cancer therapy, molecular signaling involved in obesity induced carcinogenesis.

Research Interest

Cancer Research and Therapeutics: Designing drugs, functional and structural characterization and its role in regression of variety of tumors. To detect and analysis of tumor biomarkers, to identify and evaluate the molecular targets of novel anticancer molecules and its mechanism of action in both In vitro and In vivo as model system. Obesity and metabolic syndrome, hepatocarcinogenesis, Autophagy, DNA drug delivery and Breast cancer therapy. Bioactive molecule, Free radical and antioxidants in health and disease.
