Patrick Woo was Postdoctoral Fellow Medical Research Council Canada and Ballard Fellow OVC University of Guelph He continued his research on trypanosomiasis in Africa as FAO Andre Mayer Research Fellow EATRO East African Trypanosomiasis Research Organization Uganda and SRI Serengeti Research Institute Tanzania Dr Woo was IDRC Consultant and Visiting Scientist NITR Nigerian Institute for Trypanosomiasis Research Nigeria before his appointment as Assistant Professor 1974 University of Guelph UoG he was promoted to Associate Professor 1978 and to Professor 1984; appointed to the Collaborative International Development Studies Program 1993; and elected Director 2002 Axelrod Institute of Ichthyology UoG Senate also elected him University Professor Emeritus 2005 and the appointment was conferred at convocation by The Honourable Lincoln M Alexander Chancellor
Patrick initiated and established The Roy C Anderson Memorial Lecture in Parasitology in 2001 UoG; and he has been managing the lecture series since its inception.
