Biography

Dr. Felty received his PhD in Environmental Health Sciences from University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Felty’s laboratory research is focused on investigating the molecular mechanism by which estrogen and estrogenic endocrine disrupting chemicals may promote vascular lesions and affect the vascular health of individuals susceptible to harm from elevated estrogen exposure. Dr. Felty is currently the Principal Investigator of the Bankhead-Coley New Investigator Award and the NIH SC3 Award. He is a Co-Principal Investigator on two grants from the DoD which include the Breast Cancer Research Program HBCU/MI Partnership Training Award and the Breast Cancer Research Program Idea Award. Dr. Felty has published 23 peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings.
