Biography

Rajagopal was born in Tamilnadu, India. He graduated from the government Arts College of Tamilnadu in the year 2001. Post graduated from the Pondicherry University, Puducherry in the year 2004 and done his Phd on Molecular biophysics (biochemistry) in the year 2012. 

After completing his postgraduation started his career as a Research Assistant, later on worked as junior and senior research fellow in Banglore India (2011). In the year 2012 moved to Universirty of Texas Medical branch, Galveston, USA as a postdoctoral Research Scholar. Now working as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar in M.D Anderson CAncer Center, USA. 

 

 

Research Interest

• Broad curiosity in development of peptide/proteins as vaccine candidates, which includes protein-protein interaction analysis, synthesis of small molecules (organic/ inorganic/natural products), peptides (cyclic/acyclic disulfide bond formation), synthetic proteins via native chemical ligation approach, solution and solid-phase peptide synthesis and introduction of diverse chemical bonds in synthetic proteins. Next Generation Sequencing.

• Structural determination of protein-DNA (Solid: X-ray, Solution: 2D & 3D NMR, and Gas: Mass Spectrometry) interactions and their pathways, stability, dynamics, and function.

• Molecular modeling and structure based drug design. Design, synthesis, and development of MRI contrast agents.

• Molecular mechanism of intracellular traffic (endocytosis and exocytosis) incorporation ligand free-bound. Further, biophysics and biochemistry of nanoparticle peptide disease targets.
