Biography

Raymundo Munguia-Vazquez is clinical assistant professor in the Indiana University School of Medicine- West Lafayette. He holds Postdoctoral Fellowship in Auditory Neurosciences from University of Calgary (2010-2012). He received his PhD in Otolaryngology/ Experimental Surgery and M.Sc in Otolaryngology from McGill University in the duration of 2004-2010. He had also done his Doctor in Medicine from Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Mexico (1996-2001).
 

Research Interest

Auditory Cortex plasticity and to understand how the central nervous system adapts and responds to a diverse array of disorders; i.e. central Auditory Processing Disorders (cAPD), tinnitus, sensorineural hearing loss, and/or mild traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI). Other interests include: How to identify and diagnose patients with normal audiograms but abnormal supra-threshold hearing; i.e. poor speech reception in noise, and possible contributing factors for this phenomenon (“hidden hearing loss”).
