Biography

Rodolphe Gentili has received his PhD in Motor Neuroscience at the University of Burgundy France in 2004. He received additional training in intelligent bio-inspired control systems and neuroimaging at the Superior National School of Telecommunication France, the University Pierre et Marie Curie France and the University of Maryland USA. Currently, he is working as research assistant professor for the School of Public Health, Department of Kinesiology and the Neuroscience and Cognitive Science Program at the University of Maryland. His work has been funded by diverse grant agencies and his work published in various peer-review journals such as Neuroscience, Journal of Neurophysiology, IEEE, Psychophysiology, PloS. He has served as reviewers for various peer-reviewed journals and proceedings in the areas of cognitive-motor neuroscience, computational neuroscience, and brain imaging. He is member of the IEEE Robotics and Automation Society, Society for Neuroscience and IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society.

Research Interest

Rodolphe Gentili’s research focuses on the investigation of functional non-invasive brain biomarkers, which assess the level of cognitive-motor performance and learning in humans. Another aspect of his research is to develop bio-inspired control systems able to learn to manipulate anthropomorphic robot limbs (arm/finger), while at the same time incorporating the main biomechanical features of human movement.
