Biography

I am the Principal Investigator at the Roger Williams Medical Center Brain Tumor Laboratory. I am also an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery at the Boston University School of Medicine. My research interest is in development of sustainable immunotherapy for glioblastoma. I have extensive experience in immunology, especially T cell biology, and specific training and expertise in brain tumors. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Louisville, I have carried out research on the survival of activated T cells using animal models and have published several important research papers in high impact journals. My training has broadened my knowledge in understanding the immune system and to manipulate it accordingly to increase the survival of T cells. At the Brain Tumor Laboratory of the University of Chicago, I expanded my research to include studying the immune response associated with brain tumors. As a PI or co-investigator, I have identifying several new immunological and cellular parameters for brain tumor progression, as well as developing and characterizing effective therapeutic molecules that can be ideally translated into treatment of malignant glioma.
